Dorsk 82 - Page 3

Apparently, Kyp had located the beast, done battle with it, and through the power of the Force, brought the storm down on top of it and used lightning to finally kill it. Once it was killed, Kyp freed the spirits of the colonists, but the disruption in his head still did not leave. There on the rocky plains of Corbos, the Jedi realized that an even bigger beast had awoken and was now hunting for the Jedi. Seeing its fallen comrade, the Leviathan became enraged and attacked the Jedi with a ferocity even greater than the one that lay dead before it.

The Jedi used every weapon available to them on the battlefield of Corbos, their lightsabers, the storm, the rocks. But the enormous size of the beast was too much for the landscape of the planet to handle, and it didn't take long for the ground beneath the Jedi and the Leviathan to crumble sending them plunging into the caves below, which were dotted with openings that oozed magma and lava. The Jedi managed to catch themselves on ropes and pipes of the miners power generators, but the Leviathan plunged into the deep lava pools.

However, the beast was strong enough to survive even a dip into liquid hot magma, and it burst forth, sending a shower of lava towards the Jedi, and only through the Force were they able to cast it aside, leaving them unscathed. With their lightsabers, Kyp, Streen, and Kirana Ti hacked away at the Leviathan, while Dorsk 82 hung back, his fears about his inabilities in the Force keeping him from attacking. However, Dorsk 82 rose to the challenge, ignoring those fears and realized that the power generator still worked and the Jedi could use it to their advantage in killing the beast. Kyp lured the beast to the massive power cables, and as Dorsk 82 threw the switch, Kyp baited the Leviathan to bite into the cables, sending countless volts of electricity through its body, frying it from the inside.

The beast now dead, the spirits were released and were finally at peace. The Jedi left Corbos behind, but for Dorsk 82, the occasion was much more important. It was his first test as a Jedi Knight, and he had passed; he realized he did have what it took to become a Jedi and resolved to walk the path of a Jedi Knight.
